Professor A. Ioffe was recently awarded an honorary degree in economics

   In 12 May 2006, Professor Alexander Ioffe, of The Technion,  Israel, was
awarded  an honour degree in economics from the Keio University, Tokyo in
recognition not only of his outstanding scholarly achievements in advancing the
theory of mathematical optimization but also of years remarkable contributions
to the developments of mathematical economic analysis in Japan through
the dedicated scientific activities.
