Report for 2SGWO, 2012
The 2nd
Sino-German Workshop on Optimization, Modeling, Methods and Applications in
Industry and Management (2SGWO) was held at the Academy of Mathematics and
Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, from
September 23rd to 27th 2012. The 2SGWO continued the 1st
Sino-German Workshop which took place in 2011 at Berlin, Germany. The
motivation for 2SGWO was to bring together scientists, researchers, and
practitioners from Germany and China to exchange and share ideas and approaches
in modeling, methods, and applications of optimization arising from industry
and management. A key feature of 2SGWO is the mixture of theory and practice of
optimization.
17 speakers from
Germany, 27 speakers from China, and 2 speakers from the third country (5 of
the total 46 speakers are keynote speakers) gave presentations on some of the
recent hot topics during the five days of 2SGWO. More than 100 participants

on Pacific Journal of Optimization, which is edited by Prof. Yu-Hong Dai, Prof.
