Announcement of JIMO

The Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization (JIMO) is one of two official journals of the Pacific Optimization Research Activity Group. JIMO is published by the American Institute of Mathematical Sciences and is indexed by SCI-E. Members of POP are encouraged to support JIMO by submitting high-quality manuscripts, particularly those related to multi-disciplinary applications of optimization techniques. All papers are peer-reviewed and the editorial team has a target of 3-4 months for the completion of the first round of reviews. All papers in JIMO are freely available online and we encourage members of the POP community to consult papers published in JIMO in their research. We also emphasize that JIMO is not an open excess journal; there are no publication charges for authors as the publication costs are jointly sponsored by Curtin University, Australia and Zhejiang University, China. We look forward to receiving more outstanding submissions for JIMO from members of the POP community!

Announcement of OCA2015

6th International Conference on Optimization and Control with Applications (OCA 2015)

http://oca2015.csp.escience.cn/

11-14 December 2015, Changsha, China

The 6th International Conference on Optimization and Control with Applications (OCA 2015) will be held on 11-14 December 2015 in the rich historical and scenic city of Changsha, China. The conference is being jointly organized by Changsha University of Science and Technology (China) and Curtin University (Australia), and follows on from previous successful conferences in the OCA series in Erice, Italy (2001), Tunxi, China (2002), Jiuzhaigou, China (2004), Harbin, China (2009), and Beijing, China (2012).

As a continuation of the OCA series, the goal of OCA 2015 is to provide an international forum for scientists, engineers, and researchers to exchange ideas and approaches, to present research findings and state-of-the-art solutions, to share experiences on potentials and limits, and to establish new avenues of research and developments, on all issues and topics related to optimization and control.

Prospective speakers should submit an abstract or extended abstract through the OCA 2015 EasyChair online system located at:

https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=oca2015

All abstracts must use the conference Latex class file available from the conference website. Please note that the submission period runs from 1 June 2015 to 30 September 2015.

Special Issues

After the conference, authors are encouraged to submit full papers to appropriate special issues of the following journals:

1.      Optimization Letters (Springer)

2.      Pacific Journal of Optimization

3.      Numerical Algebra, Control and Optimization (AIMS)

4.      Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization (AIMS)

5.      Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems (Springer)

6.      Cogent Mathematics

Further details on the submission of papers to these special issues will be provided in subsequent announcements. All submitted papers will be subjected to the same rigorous reviewing process as regular papers.

Special Sessions

For anyone interested in organizing a special session for the conference, please write to the Conference Secretary, Prof Ryan Loxton (r.loxton@curtin.edu.au), by 31 August 2015 informing him of the session title and the estimated number of speakers. Each special session can include an invited speaker, but this is optional. The presentation duration for invited talks will be 30 minutes and the duration of other talks will be 20 minutes.
