1. Acknowledgement.  

The Working Committee of Pacific Optimization Research Activity Group (POP) would like to acknowledge the kind contribution of Department of Decision Sciences at the Business School of National University of Singapore (NUS) in payment of S$ 1,123.50  for fixing the security vulnerabilities of POP’s  website hosted by Department of Decision Science of NUS.  The Department of Decision Sciences has hosted the POP website (https://apps-bschool.nus.edu.sg/asp/pop/ ) since 2011 and has been consistently providing profound help in operation and promotion of POP, which is highly appreciated.

 

2. Announcement of Conference. 

The University of Newcastle will be holding a conference to commemorate the life and work of Laureate Professor Jonathan Borwein. The conference will be held 25-29 September 2017 at one of Jon's favourite venues, "Noah's on the Beach" overlooking the ocean at Newcastle. Registration will be available shortly at https://carma.newcastle.edu.au/meetings/jbcc/
